GBS Student Honored at Chicago International Children's Film Festival

Logan Cascia, a GBS film student, entered and has been chosen to be honored in the Chicago International Children's Film Festival. The impressive feat in this story is that this is not a high school contest. It is an international, professional film contest and Logan's film is being honored!

The film is "Ana-Tommy" (click the link to see the video, which is also entered on Myhero.com), about one of our own GBS students, Tommy Carroll, an amazing individual. The director, senior Logan Cascia, has been asked to give a speech at the Chicago International Children's Film Festival, on Friday, October 26, 2007 prior to the showing of the film. Students Jeff Mondlock & Kelsey Dimond also helped produce with the film.

2007 Captains' Breakfast

This year's captains' breakfast was sponsored by JKB and included over eighty GBS leaders who spent the morning reviewing leadership qualities and responsibilities.

Leaders also heard from Mr. Torsiello and Mr. Wegley who shared the opportunities and responsibilities they have as leaders at GBS. Mr. Wegley also shared the web video 212 degrees, which reviews the commitment needed for success. We can always give that 1 extra degree.

GBS TV Student Wins Fox TV Honor

Greg Kubik, a student in the GBS TV program, had his video entry shown on Fox Sunday, October 14, 2007 at 9 PM. Congratulations Greg and the entire GBS TV program!

Debate & Speech Programs Highlighted by CNN

Comcast Newsmakers will be featuring The 2007 Glenbrooks Speech and Debate Tournament and the GBS Debate team during the week of October 29. Comcast Newsmakers is a five minute Q&A airing on CNN Headline News at :24 and:54 on the hour. A Comcast Newsmaker's segment was recently taped by Tara Tate and it highlights the 2007 Glenbrooks Speech and Debate Tournament and highlights the successes of the GBS Debate team this season. This segment will be on rotation with other interviews throughout the week!
