Two GBS Students Earn Special Scholarship

Congratulations to GBS students Liana Bran & Ismael Flores for earning special scholarships during this year's Latino Summit. This year neighboring school districts invited approximately 350 of their freshmen and sophomore Latino students to take part in this summit, which was held at Harper College. During the summit, students listen to both a professional panel and a student panel. These panelists are all Latinos and go through great lengths to motivate students regarding school, college, obstacles faced, possibilities and ultimate triumphs if they continue with their education. Students who have attended in the past are allowed to apply for a $500 scholarship as seniors. Some of the requirements are grades, G.P.A., economic need, contributions to school and community. Congratulations again to Liana and Ismael!
